Title: GIS Analyst GIS Analyst consultant services needed ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversees the structuring, operation, and maintenance of the GIS, (Geographic Information System) hardware, software, and databases. Title: GIS Applications Administrator Job Description • Administration, oversight and technical services in support of installing, configuring, managing, refreshing, debugging and tuning the elements of the GIS Hosting Infrastructure and their integration with other enterprise systems. Implementation methodologies include load balancing and high availability architecture. These elements include application servers, database servers, file servers, storage servers, various types of data storage, and COTS and the GIS components of GOTS applications. Primary COTS applications include ESRI ArcGIS applications (ArcGIS Desktop and extensions, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcGIS Server), GeoMicro AltaMap Server, AutoDesk MapGuide Server and various third-party tools. GOTS with GIS interface requirements include Regional Shore Installation Management System (RSIMS), GeoReadiness Catalog (GRCatalog), Explosive Safety Siting (ESS), Naval Installation Restoration Information Solution (NIRIS) and others. Interfaces are to Oracle database, Oracle Portal, Oracle Collaboration Suite, Oracle SSO/OID, CITRIX, BIG IP, and to enterprise storage and backup systems. External interfaces are to SPM, INFADS, ieFACMAN, CUBIC and others. • Provide knowledgeable, effective, hands on data management, oversight, and support for data stored within the GIS Hosting Environment. This includes file-based and database storage that is both tabular and spatial in nature. Typical tasks are coordination of data delivery, loading and ongoing maintenance with GeoReadiness Centers, validation of data integrity and compliance with applicable standards, management of replication methods and cycles, identifying opportunities for automation, and backup and recovery, building administrative automation tools to simplify administrative tasks. • Prepare and maintain user documentation related to the operation of the GIS Hosting Environment. Types of documentation will include business processes, system configuration, GeoReadiness Data Model, data preparation, source code, etc. Provide training and consultation as necessary to augment documentation and ensure successful knowledge transfer to all pertinent parties. All documentation shall be in appropriate formats (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.). In addition, all appropriate training shall be provided in person, via phone conference, or Oracle Web Collaboration. Job Requirements 1. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. The minimum level of experience is at least ten years working within the IT discipline, at least five years experience supporting GIS applications using ESRI suite of products, and at least two years experience supporting GeoMicro AltaMap server.
